Former Northumbria Police detective constable Rachel Fletcher has spoken out after being sacked for gross misconduct over remarks deemed sexist and transphobic. Rachel faced an allegation that she referred to trans-identifying male suspects using the phrase “c***ks in frocks”, which she denies saying in full. She claims she was targeted after challenging police policies concerning biological sex, crime recording and the searching of suspects. The former child-protection and family liaison officer told Julia Hartley-Brewer: “When it comes to policing, we need to deal in facts, evidence and truth.” Rachel , who is being supported by the Police Federation, added: “When I wouldn’t back down, they obviously had to find another way to silence me.” Have you got a story?
