Spiked editor Tom Slater has described the arrival of a reported 49-foot dinghy carrying 230 migrants as a symbol of “catastrophic failure”. Joining Julia Hartley-Brewer, Tom argued that disrupting smuggling gangs would not end Channel crossings unless the Government removed the incentive for people to enter Britain illegally.
