Chinese-made cameras fitted to British special forces K3 Scout reconnaissance drones were found to be transmitting data back to an IP address in China, The Telegraph reported, citing sources, in a discovery that prompted authorities to immediately sever all internet connections to the compromised equipment. The K3 Scout drones, which entered British service in March and were intended for planned operations in the Persian Gulf as part of a British package to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, were supplied by major British defence contractor Kraken Technology Group, which had sourced the cameras from a third party that had provided security guarantees.
