The Lok Sabha has passed a motion to refer the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 to a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament amid uproar in the House. The proposed Joint Committee will comprise 31 members — 21 from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha — and will undertake a detailed examination of the contentious legislation.
