Today One Nation will introduce our foreign fighters bill to the Australian Parliament. The first duty of government is to keep Australians safe. Labor has failed that test. Foreign terrorist fighters and ISIS-linked individuals should not be waved back into our country while Australians are kept in the dark about secret meetings, quiet understandings and backroom discussions. If the law is too weak to protect the public, then the answer is simple: change the law. That is why One Nation is introducing legislation to put community safety and national security first. Our Bill creates a new foreign terrorist fighter exclusion order, strengthens bail laws so dangerous individuals are not casually released into the community, gives the Minister stronger passport powers, and makes it an offence to facilitate the return of a foreign terrorist fighter without written ministerial permission.
