The Victorian government has delayed a proposed law that would enshrine the right for workers to work from home two days a week, pushing back its implementation from next month until July next year. Premier Ben Carroll says more time is needed to consult with business groups. The Victorian Chamber of Commerce CEO Sally Curtin argues the legislation is unnecessary, noting Victoria already has the highest work-from-home rates in the world following the pandemic lockdowns, and that employers and employees have successfully negotiated flexible arrangements without government intervention.
