Prime Minister Andy Burnham insists he is "increasingly confident" he will be able to stop PC Andrew Harper's killers being released from prison early, despite saying last week the men would be eligible for the early release scheme. "I've heard the depth of concern across the country about the potential release of the killers of Andrew Harper," Burnham told broadcasters on Tuesday. Despite claims the government has u-turned on the issue after increasing pressure, the PM said "nothing has changed", and he has "never accepted that there is nothing more that can be done." The partner of a pregnant woman killed alongside their unborn child by a speeding driver has told ITV News the offender should not be eligible for early release from prison. Calvin Buckley lost his partner, Frankie Julia Hough, in a road crash on the M66 in Bury in May 2023. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News o
