Kenya Power is warning against the rapid addition of wind and solar power to the national grid, saying the growing share of intermittent renewable energy is putting pressure on grid stability and could ultimately increase the cost of electricity. The utility says wind and solar power are already above what it considers a safe threshold, and is calling for greater investment in stable energy sources such as geothermal and hydro.
