The Kibera Law Courts have allowed the continued detention of Jared Olang Geng, alias “Happy,” a suspect in the acid attack on Claire Ochieng. Fresh affidavits filed by DCI Kilimani investigators detail M-Pesa transactions allegedly linking Jared to the suspected mastermind of the attack, despite his claim that he was not physically present during the March 17 assault. Prosecutors argue that Jared is a flight risk, having allegedly gone into hiding for months before his arrest, and could interfere with witnesses if released.
