Amnesty International UK has withdrawn a report that included J.K. Rowling’s women-only sexual-violence support centre, Beira’s Place, among 117 organisations linked to what it called an “anti-rights movement”. Ian Collins and The Sun columnist Ross Clark accuse the once-respected human-rights charity of abandoning its original mission and being taken over by “Marxist-minded ideologues”. They discuss J.K. Rowling’s threat of legal action, her offer to help other organisations with their legal costs, John Cleese’s condemnation of Amnesty and criticism from the family of founder member Seán MacBride. Clark also argues that Amnesty has “gone to war” against pro-life campaigners. The pair later question the need for a COBR meeting over a one-day heatwave, while callers discuss migrant-hotel spending and climate-change policy. Have you got a story?
