Youth speaker Julian Grad argues that language didn't evolve so we could share our thoughts. Rather, we only began thinking clearly because we evolved language. In a talk spanning early humans around the fire, apples, lions and the birth of the inner "I", the Clifton College student explores how naming things builds the mind itself, why our deepest feelings escape words entirely, and how art steps in to say the unspeakable.
