President Donald Trump has admitted that he took a secret flight out of Turkey last month, in response to a possible Iranian threat. US media reported that Mr Trump left Air Force One on the tarmac and hid in a catering truck before boarding another plane, following a Nato summit in Ankara. Air Force One then took off as a "decoy", in the words of some analysts, carrying several journalists and high-ranking US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and advisor Stephen Miller. We speak to the BBC's White House reporter Bernd Debusmann, in Washington, about the ruse to get President Trump off Air Force One, and the threats to his life, posed by Iran. Earlier this year a man working for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was convicted of murder for hire and attempt to commit an act of terrorism for his role in a 2024 assassination plot.
