Senators on Wednesday, August 13, fired back at former Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan during their plenary session, after Bonoan testified about the allocables and leadership funds of Senators in the national budget before the Sandiganbayan. Bonoan testified that senators were allocated at least P500 million each under a DPWH “leadership” fund, while chairpersons of major Senate committees could receive up to P1 billion.
