Parkour, a sport that involves jumping over railings, rolling on the ground and scaling walls, has a reputation for being for the young. But in Singapore, an instructor is using parkour to teach seniors strength, balance and how to fall safely. “People are just a bit like, 'Oh, wait a minute, you mean they can still do this,' or 'They are doing this better than me when I'm like half their age?'” said instructor Tan Shie Boon, who began teaching parkour to seniors after realizing it could be a good way for older people to stay healthy as they age.
