Thousands of people have witnessed the UK's best solar eclipse in almost thirty years - with some in Europe even catching a glimpse of a rare total eclipse. More than 90% of the sun was obscured by the moon on Wednesday evening between 6.17pm and 8.06pm, the most it has been blocked in the UK since the 1999 total eclipse.
