A massive explosion tore through the KNDS Ammo Italy munitions factory in Colleferro, near Rome, after a fire broke out inside the facility. The plant, formerly known as Simmel Difesa, is part of the Franco-German defence group KNDS, which manufactures the Leopard tank, Caesar howitzer, and ammunition reportedly supplied to Ukraine. Dramatic videos from the scene showed thick black smoke, emergency crews rushing to the site, and extensive damage across the factory complex. Authorities said the fire started in the powder-pressing department before triggering a powerful explosion. Around 24 workers were inside the facility at the time, but all were accounted for and no injuries were reported.
