Would you take out a mortgage knowing your kids might be the ones who finish paying it off? Three years ago, I predicted we could eventually see 40, 50 or even 100-year mortgages in Australia. Now 40-year loans are here. Nobody is offering a 100-year mortgage yet, but if property prices continue growing faster than incomes, the financial system will keep looking for ways to make larger debts serviceable. Could intergenerational mortgages eventually become normal in Australia? Let me know what you think. 👇
