I won't stay silent while productive farmland is sold off and converted into carbon credit schemes. Rushy Lagoon is Tasmania's largest farm and one of the country's significant beef, dairy, sheep and cropping properties. Australian bidders wanted to keep it producing food, yet the Albanese Government approved its sale to foreign owners backed by millions of dollars in taxpayer support. Australians are already facing rising grocery prices and growing pressure on our food supply. Every acre of productive farmland matters. Instead of supporting Australian farmers and strengthening our food security, this government is helping drive a net zero agenda that puts carbon credits ahead of food production. That's why I demanded answers in the Senate. Why is taxpayer money being used to support foreign investors buying Australian farmland? Why are productive agricultural properties being diverted into carbon credit projects? I'll keep fighting to protect our farmers, our farmland and Australia'
