Police reveal extent of injuries after train derails in East Sussex

Two people have been seriously injured and 18 others are in hospital after a train derailed near Lewes in East Sussex. The Southern train was travelling from London Victoria to Eastbourne when it came off the tracks just north of Lewes station tunnel, with reports of dozens of passengers being left trapped. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday evening, British Transport Police Superintendent Dominique Ioannou said their thoughts are with everyone affected.
