Carcinization is a process by which species that were completely different evolved into nearly identical shapes over the past few million years. This shape seems to draw inspiration largely from crabs, and is believed to be a result of their shape being extremely safe for underwater environments. I was introduced to this topic at a very young age, when it was simply a fun fact i heard in drawing class. Years later, this same topic would come back to me, except this time there were no crustaceans involved. It was me seeing this principle in the lives of people- letting norms of safety, perfection, expectations, stigmas and projected dreams change their lane in life through various means. I began seeing this everywhere- even in my own life. So I raised the question- If we as humans consider ourselves more autonomous than sea creatures, must we not also question if the turns and decisions we make in our own lives are really our own, and not somebody else’s idea of a good turn which wil
