I used to think this talk would be about finding my voice. Instead, I discovered it was about asking where it came from. The older I get, the less I believe we’re entirely self-made. My confidence, my education, my ability disagree with people twice my age, none of it appeared out of nowhere. It was inherited. Earned by women I’ll never meet, protected by people who believed I deserved a future before I knew what one looked like. This isn’t a talk about being grateful for the bare minimum, and it isn’t an attempt to convince you to call yourself a feminist. It’s an invitation to question the invisible luck that shapes our lives, the freedoms we mistake for guarantees, and the comfort that makes inequality easy to miss when it isn’t happening to us. I don’t have all the answers. But I do have something to say. And maybe that’s the point.
