Donald Trump is holding back on endorsing Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, according to Axios, despite their previously close political relationship. The reported hesitation comes as Netanyahu faces growing political uncertainty. Axios says Netanyahu’s coalition is currently projected to win 49–53 seats, below the 61 needed to form a government and well short of the 68 seats it currently holds. Former Israeli military chief Gadi Eisenkot is also reportedly polling ahead of Netanyahu, adding pressure on the prime minister. Trump had previously said he would “most likely endorse” Netanyahu, but his private views now appear less enthusiastic. Their differences have also reportedly grown over Gaza, Iran and Lebanon. While Trump’s position could still change before the election, his decision to withhold an endorsement marks a notable shift. #DonaldTrump #Trump #Netanyahu #Israel #IsraelElection #IsraeliPolitics #GadiEisenkot #USIsrael #Gaza #Iran #Lebanon #Middle
