A powerful earthquake has struck off the coast of eastern Indonesia, damaging buildings and killing at least two people, emergency authorities say. The magnitude-7.8 quake, as reported by Geoscience Australia, was followed by several strong aftershocks. An early tsunami warning by Indonesia's geophysics agency has been cancelled. Separately, Australia's tsunami warning centre said the undersea earthquake would have "no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland, islands or territories".
