On August 15, the 81st anniversary of Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi sent a ritual offering to the Yasukuni Shrine, while Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and several other cabinet ministers visited in person. The shrine lists 14 convicted Class-A war criminals and is seen across Asia as a symbol of Japan's militarist past. Japanese peace activists rallied against the visits. China strongly condemned the actions and lodged solemn representations with Japan. #RememberForPeace 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv For more: https://news.cgtn.com/news/2026-08-15/The-repeated-honoring-of-war-criminals-Japan-s-p
