“Living in Afghanistan as a woman is a disaster.” There are severe restrictions now imposed on women and girls five years after the Taliban seized power, but despite the education and travel bans, former Afghan mayor Zarifa Ghaffari remains hopeful that Afghanistan’s women and its next generation can secure change.
