1,500 couples have tied the knot in one of Nigeria's largest mass wedding ceremonies in Kano State. The state-sponsored event aims to support low-income families by providing financial assistance, household essentials, and opportunities for economic empowerment. Each bride received a dowry, newlyweds were also given household goods to help with their fresh start. Authorities say the initiative is designed to reduce financial barriers to marriage, strengthen families, and promote social stability across the region. DW News' West Africa Correspondent Azeezat Olaoluwa joined the celebrations to discover why thousands of people are choosing to participate in the program. #nigeria #wedding #kano #africa #dwcurrentaffairs For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dwnews ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews Für Videos in deutsch
