The ABC drama series Goolagong wins the Logie Award, tracing the inspiring life and tennis triumphs of champion Evonne Goolagong Cawley. Evonne won her first Grand Slam singles title in 1971, the same year she was named Australian of the Year, and went on to collect six more Grand Slam singles titles and seven Grand Slam doubles titles. The series was in development for nine years before finally securing financing from the ABC, BBC Studios, Screen Australia and VicScreen.
