Sixteen-year-old Yasser Ayad began cooking with his parents before Israel’s war on Gaza; after his father was killed and their home destroyed, he continued the family tradition on camera. Displaced and facing famine and severe shortages, he improvises with aid rations and scarce ingredients, and revives Palestinian staples such as musakhan, maftoul and maqluba. His social media videos have attracted a growing audience, offering a window into daily life and resilience in Gaza. Told in his own words.
