Twenty-five states just sued Donald Trump. Again. This is the third time in eighteen months a coalition of state attorneys general has taken this president to court over the same basic accusation: that he doesn't have legal authority to impose sweeping tariffs. The target this time is the Section 301 "forced labor" tariff this channel already covered — the one that swept Canada onto a list built for actual human rights atrocities. The chain: February 2026, the Supreme Court struck down Trump's IEEPA tariffs as unconstitutional. Section 122 filled the gap — and expired by law on July 24.
