Hurricane Lala brought torrential rain, powerful winds and dangerous flooding to Hawaii’s Big Island on August 15 after strengthening into a Category 1 storm. Footage from Hilo shows Rainbow Falls gushing with surging water as intense rain battered the island. More than 44,000 customers were reportedly left without power, while officials warned of life-threatening flash floods, landslides, high surf and storm surge.
