A Canadian petition calling for U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra to be declared persona non grata is gaining steam after months of Trump’s 51st state taunts, annexation posts, tariff threats, and diplomatic insults. Hoekstra has defended Trump’s rhetoric, reposted 51st state imagery from the embassy account, and dismissed Canadian anger while the relationship between two longtime allies keeps deteriorating. Canada is now openly asking why the person assigned to preserve the friendship is helping inflame the damage. Ring of Fire's Josh G. discusses.
