Your encryption may soon be worthless. Amadeus Capital co-founder Hermann Hauser says “Q Day” — when a quantum computer can crack today’s widely used encryption standard — could arrive much sooner than expected. For years, experts had been looking at around 2035. Recent advances have raised the possibility that it could happen as early as 2029. That could have major implications for banking, government communications and encrypted messaging.
