In an interview Sunday with Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran's leaders are “very violent and evil”, and warned that if Tehran obtained a nuclear weapon, “Israel would be gone.” Trump also described Iran as a “failing nation,” praising the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and saying the financial pressure on Tehran is hitting the country hard. Trump's remarks came after fighting in the region resumed Sunday. The U.S. military struck Iran's Larak Island, targeting launchers that were preparing to fire rockets carrying sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz. Iran retaliated by launching missiles at a base that hosts U.S. troops in Jordan.
