Earning more money doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting wealthier. That’s the trap. Your salary can increase while your purchasing power goes backwards. Your bank balance can be bigger while your standard of living gets worse. And that’s what many Australians have experienced over the past few years. Higher wages mean very little if housing, groceries, energy, insurance and almost everything else you need is rising even faster. This is why I believe financial education has become more important than ever. You can’t just focus on how much you earn. You need to focus on what your money can actually BUY, what you KEEP and what you’re doing with it to protect your future. Do you feel financially better or worse off than you did five years ago?
