Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered just got its first real hands-on showcase from Gamescom 2026, giving us our best look yet at the completely overhauled character select screen, redesigned UI, weather options, stage settings, Destruction mode, and early impressions from the playable demo. The Gamescom build reportedly featured Godzilla and King Ghidorah as playable characters, while keeping the classic announcer and original sound effects intact. We also finally get a clearer look at the new character select screen, where players can choose stages, weather conditions, and game modes before battle, with the remaster reportedly keeping the original controls and physics while upgrading the camera, graphics, and VFX through Unreal Engine 5. In this video, we’re breaking down everything shown from the Gamescom demo, including the new menus, character select screen, Destruction gameplay, updated presentation, and whether this faithful approach is exactly what longtime fans want
