Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the SCO Declaration alongside other member-state leaders at the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Bishkek. In his address, Modi called for dismantling the “entire ecosystem of terrorism”, including its financing, recruitment and safe havens, and said there should be “no place for double standards” in the fight against terrorism. He also urged countries to resolve wars and conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy, while highlighting India’s priorities of security, connectivity and opportunity. Modi further called for stronger cooperation against drug trafficking and said people-to-people ties should remain at the centre of SCO cooperation.
