Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney "is on strong political footing," even after trade talks with the United States collapsed last week, Bloomberg's Josh Wingrove says. On Washington Week with the Atlantic, Wingrove discussed the political situation Carney finds himself in as President Donald Trump's rhetoric against Canada escalates. "Canadian public opinion is very clear right now. Canadians are outraged at the way the president is treating them," he told moderator Jeffrey Goldberg. "Carney is on strong political footing, and there's a lot of appetite in Canada for him not to cave," Wingrove added.
