An island disappeared from satellite imagery in British Columbia, Canada, within a month, sparking a mystery on social media. A spokesperson for the reservoir's operator told CNN affiliate CBC that the island was likely formed from an accumulation of driftwood, which allowed trees and plants to grow. When reservoir levels rose, the mass broke free and was carried away by the wind, CNN affiliate CBC reports.
