The U.S. has launched fresh strikes against Iran, marking the second reported American strike on Iranian targets in roughly 48 hours. President Donald Trump has ordered another escalation as U.S. forces target Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with reports of explosions around Bandar Abbas and other areas near the Strait of Hormuz. The latest U.S. strikes come after the August 30 attack on Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island. Washington says its military action is aimed at countering threats from the IRGC against American personnel and commercial shipping in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. Iran has warned that any U.S. aggression will face retaliation, raising fears of a wider U.S.-Iran war and further disruption around one of the world’s most important energy routes. Watch for the latest developments on Trump’s Iran strikes, Bandar Abbas, IRGC targets, the Strait of Hormuz, U.S.-Iran tensions, Iran retaliation and the escalating Middle East conflict.
