Andy Burnham promised MPs that his leadership is "politics done differently" as he addressed MPs in parliament for the first time since becoming prime minister in July. The PM pledged unity as he set out some of his plans as leader, asking all parties to come together to help him deliver it. "I urge colleagues on all sides of the House to help us do that," he said; "This is politics done differently, problem solving over point scoring. "It is what the country needs. It is what the public want more of. And it will characterise my time in office." Burnham promised to make the change that his party promised in its manifesto and acknowledged that the country is not where it should be. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.
