SAS veterans who served in Northern Ireland should not face “endless legal jeopardy” decades after the Troubles, a Labour former defence minister has said. Al Carns, a former Armed Forces minister who served for 24 years in the Royal Marines, backed a new report from the Policy Exchange think tank. The report argues that soldiers who fought the IRA are now being judged using human-rights standards developed after conflict took place. Speaking with Former SAS commander Ed Butler, Talk's Ian Collins says: "They are literally living with this kind of sword of Damocles hanging over them, wondering what the hell is going to happen, despite having what in any other world would have been a glorious career, where they literally just did the job they were paid to do." #veterans #army #iancollins #talk Have you got a story?
