In Michigan, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed apologized this weekend for comments that he made after a synagogue attack outside Detroit in March. The attack was carried out by a Lebanese man whose family had been killed in an Israeli strike. El-Sayed condemned the attack and then said, "Hurt people hurt people." El-Sayed has since met with Jewish Democratic leaders and said that he made a mistake. He continues to face criticism from the president and the GOP. NPR’s Tamara Keith and Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report with Amy Walter joined Amna Nawaz to discuss. Watch PBS News for daily, breaking and live news, plus special coverage.
