A birthright citizenship hearing erupted into a sharp clash over immigration and crime after Cato Institute expert David Bier challenged a central argument used by President Donald Trump and his Republican allies. Bier argued that immigrants — including undocumented immigrants — are less likely to commit crimes for which they are incarcerated than U.S.-born Americans, and said immigration overall reduces the likelihood of Americans becoming crime victims. His testimony triggered a tense exchange with Republican Rep. Chip Roy as lawmakers battled over Trump’s immigration crackdown, crime and birthright citizenship. #DonaldTrump #Trump #ChipRoy #DavidBier #BirthrightCitizenship #Immigration #IllegalImmigration #CatoInstitute #ImmigrantCrime #TrumpImmigration #USCongress #USPolitics #BorderSecurity #ImmigrationDebate #BreakingNews Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
