An office of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee located at Camac Street was ransacked on Thursday morning (September 3, 2026). Mr. Banerjee alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters were behind the attack. Videos shared by the Trinamool Congress leaders showed three to four masked men removing equipment from the office, with shattered glass and other materials scattered around, indicating vandalism. “If this is how the Opposition is to be treated in West Bengal, through violence, vandalism and intimidation, then the Chief Minister has no moral authority to remain in office. He must resign. This is not democracy. This is political thuggery,” Mr. Banerjee posted on social media, sharing videos captured from close-circuit television cameras inside the premises.
