Tensions are escalating around the Strait of Hormuz as the United States carries out its biggest wartime Escort operation yet, protecting 40 commercial vessels carrying around 18 MILLION BARRELS of oil. US military forces reportedly used air, sea and space assets to defend the ships from drone attacks and missile threats while striking nearly 60 Iranian military targets around the strategic waterway. With shipping costs and insurance rates surging, Washington is now planning to expand a cleared shipping lane through the strait. As Iran remains capable of threatening one of the world's most critical energy chokepoints, the latest US military moves could push the US-Iran conflict into an even more dangerous phase. #StraitOfHormuz #USWarships #IranWar #USIranConflict #HormuzCrisis #OilShips #USMilitary #IranTensions #HormuzEscort #OilTankers #USNavy #IranConflict #HormuzStrait #MiddleEastCrisis #TrumpIran #USMilitaryOperation #OilCrisis #ShippingCrisis #HormuzWar #BreakingNews #IranNews
