Russia is escalating its confrontation with Europe. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has threatened Germany with a 'direct strike' on military production facilities after Berlin accused Moscow of involvement in an attempted drone attack at Leipzig Airport. Germany says the incident is part of Russia’s wider hybrid warfare campaign against Europe. Moscow denies involvement and has vowed to respond to Berlin’s measures. The threats also echo previous Russian warnings against Britain over its military support for Ukraine. As Germany receives backing from European allies, concerns are growing over whether Moscow’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric could push Europe into a more dangerous phase of confrontation with Russia.
