The Strait of Hormuz is at the centre of a growing global energy crisis, with disruptions to shipping pushing up concerns over oil and gas prices. In this video, Firstpost examines Donald Trump’s latest proposal to rename the strategic waterway the 'Trump Strait,' after he claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is now under US control. The video also looks at the reality on the ground, including continued attacks on tankers, ship seizures and disruptions to traffic through the crucial chokepoint. It also revisits Trump’s earlier post featuring a map that portrayed the Strait of Hormuz as new US territory.
