Russia will close German cultural centres in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, after Germany moved to close Russia’s remaining consulate general in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin following the discovery of an explosive-laden drone near a Ukrainian aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Lavrov said German authorities believed the drone resembled those used by Russia but could not definitively establish its origin. Moscow has denied Western accusations of sabotage and Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected the Leipzig allegations. Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Lavrov also said Russia would never beg Europe to lift sanctions, arguing that Moscow had no need for European goodwill and had other partners willing to cooperate. #russia #germany #lavrov #putin #ukraine #russiaukrainewar #germanyrussia #moscow #berlin #goetheinstitut #russianhouse #sanctions #europe #geopoliticaltensions #europerussia #breakingnews #
