Allergy pens have been introduced in all schools along with new rules for teachers under a law named after a boy who died from a reaction to cow's milk. Staff will be required to undergo training and schools must have clear policies on mitigating risks to children with allergies as part of Benedict's Law. It comes after a campaign by the National Allergy Strategy Group and families including Helen and Peter Blythe. Their son Benedict, from Stamford in Lincolnshire, lost his life after a reaction at school in 2021.
