Learn how to review and improve your American Sign Language skills! In this ASL lesson for 9th-12th grade students, we practice job-related signs while learning how to check signing accuracy and improve sentence structure. Students will watch and analyze a sample ASL student video about a job update, identifying common beginner mistakes such as extra movement (sign bouncing), incorrect location, and incorrect sign movement. Along the way, they’ll review key ASL grammar rules like TIME → TOPIC → COMMENT sentence structure, practice signs like WORK, RESPONSIBLE, and APPLY, and learn how the five parameters of ASL affect meaning. This lesson is part of MiaPrep’s American Sign Language 1 course.
